Read here of any Council activities within Westbury........  and if you have any questions to ask any of our councillors, here might be a good place to put them. I like Hermes idea of a question and answer topic regarding our local Councillors, but of course we appreciate they are not always readily available to answer our queries.

So fire away and see if any of them bite the bait.  Blink

I think its a good idea, but please remember, there will be somethings that cannot be discussed on a public forum, but I for one, am more than happy to accept questions, also the general  public can turn up at meetings and register in the Public Forum and speak on issues that concern them.  Take care  Charlie

Thanks CC, and thanks Charlie for at least offering to answer general questions (probably won't be any now!). Just let me say that I see Town Councillors in a lot of meetings I go to doing good works in a quiet (with one notable exception) unsung way to the benefit of the Town. I just want to see more people taking an interest in what has become my home town and which despite some things I would like to see changed is a great place to live.

Always prepared to have a go, but as Charlie has said there are times we do have to be careful in what we say, e.g.staffing or commercially sensitive issues, allegations of "pre-determination", etc albeit this would normally be only until such time as the minutes of that particular meeting have been formally adopted at the subsequent meeting and are then officially in the "public domain".

I'll happily take the bait, but will not allow myself to be baited!! Cheesy Cheesy Thumb up! Thumb up!

Just wondering............. what involvement do our local Councillors have with local Schools if any?

Just asking because my son is to be taught Golf at School by the Trowbridge Town Council, so it said on the letter from School and it got me wondering............

Dear Town Councillors, please could we have some signs along the Warminster Road indicating that there is a school nearby (Matravers)? At present there is nothing to indicate that there are children crossing this busy road twice a day and signs such as "School", and "Slow children crossing" along the stretch of road roughly from Champion to the Cedars Hotel would greatly help the situation and let traffic know. Many thanks. Sarah Wiseman
