Whatever will be will be. x

« on: April 08, 2006, 10:25:07 »

I like to think of myself as a very spiritual person. I do not follow a specific religion though I do believe there is a greater power, be it a God of sorts or the power of the Universe.  I believe in things happening for a reason, in fate, and I believe in an afterlife and reincarnation.  I believe very much in the spirit world and have had many experiences in my time which reinforce that belief.
Do you believe you are a spirit inside a body? Do you believe you have a soul or do you think it is all a load of rubbish and that once we are dead life has truly ended?

One for you TwinklyStar!!

CC,

This is a BIG subject - maybe it needs a section all to it's self on the Forum!   Wink

As for me this simple, famous verse sums it up very nicely:

God’s Love

“God so loved the world that He gave His one
and only Son, that whoever believes in Him
shall not perish, but have eternal life”
(John 3:16 NIV).

This is a great place for anyone to start their "Quest":

Nice one cc..

I feel everyone has a right to be themselves and to believe in what they want to believe in.  For me it is the belief that there is life after death and that we do have helpers and loved ones guiding us through the walks of life.
Some of us are lucky to be able to see and feel our loved ones when they are around, others need a little help by relying on kind caring mediums to connect the two worlds.

There is a centre in westbury  (just behind the police station) for the spiritual people among you.  They are a wonderful bunch of people there and have helped and guided so many.  Meetings are Tuesday evenings 7:30

In the Independent today there was a short article about how the Government proposes that by the age of five each child should have been taught about all the different Religions and traditions in various cultures.

I personally welcome this idea.  I would like my children to have a very balanced view of the world around them and to be able to respect others Religious points of view and through that find their own beliefs...  celebrating others traditions is a great way to embrace differences rather than see them as alien.

However I do think 5yrs of age is slightly young to be that aware.....

As Christian Spiritualists we believe in the following:

The teachings of Jesus Christ.

1. The Fatherhood of God.

2. The Brotherhood of all man kind.

3. The continued existence of the human soul after physical passing.

4. That each individual is responsible for their actions be they good or bad and that the individual is personally responsible for correcting their wrongs.

5. That communion with the spirit world is possible and that spirit teachers, helpers come back to the earth plan to help those in need.

I do not mean "aware" as in spiritually aware.. I just mean in thei runderstanding of peoples differences.. of course it is a good thing to start teaching early before predjudice has a chance to set in.

As for being spiritually aware I believe children are far more aware than adults, as they are more sensitive, and have not been shaped by various life experiences.

I believe my children are all very spiritual beings but I will not discuss why I hold that view point or some may think I am barking mad Wink Grin

Interesting topic this one -Twinkling. Nothing like that that has happened to me.

Im not not interested in the details, because thats obviously personal, but what did your kids make of that experience - talking to the deceased? Were they bothered, concerned, or just intrigued?

Yes I do believe, but its not the thing you shout from the roof tops.   Many people thought that animals and young children could acess the sprit world, that is not so, just open your mind and anyone can be a contact.   I have to admit that dieing does not worry me because I know its not the end just the begining, someone said to me years ago "if you make someone smile every day of your life,  it doesnt have to be the same person, then you havnt done bad" I  have tried to follow that because it takes less muscles to smile than frown.   I have this theory that if the whole world was mates then there would be less conflict, some people think im nuts but it works for me!  take care

I agree entirely Charlie. I try to do one good turn at least once a day, be it make the time to talk to someone, to cook a meal for someone, to buy someone a plant... just little things that mean alot.
I have nursed many people until their death, and have experienced many things within my job, that reinforce my belief that there is life after death.
I often feel my Grandparents around me, maybe you could say that was wishful thinking, however I think it is more than that.
I have been to several personal readings with a Medium which have left me feeling both reassured and further intrigued.
I believe that some of us have lived before and I believe that some of us will be reincarnated again.  I think our physical being is just the beginning of a whole wonderful process that lies ahead, and that in spiritual form we get to be richer from our whole life experience.  I also believe that we connect with certain people on the earth plane for a reason, either to learn form them for ourselves or to teach them something.  Ie, my frustration at dealing with a certain bullying individual was meant to be as it teaches me how it is my business how I think and feel, no one elses, I am what I am and I do not have anything to prove.  Am I making sense?!!
I believe in Karma, I believe in fate, I will save that fly from drowing because I believe we are all of equal importance whatever our physical form is.  The best thing is to try and put others first, do for others and you wish would be done for you, there is no feeling quite like it.
