Thanks for your help Rowan.

I've worked out that when you put in a postcode and start zooming it starts with the aircraft view from those years ago, then you can zoom right in to what was taken by the car!

Not sure if I was at home on the day it was taken, my mum's car is on the driveway though so if mine was up the drive it wouldn't have been in view.

As for where I'm living now, I wonder when it was done as some of the nearby features are in the last 7 months since I've been here. Neither Lucy or my cars are around though. Embarrasingly we had weeds out by the front door!!

Maxi,

if I get asked one more time why there aren't toilets up there, I'll use this to show why there should be. English Heritage are so stupid, what do they think people do - tie a knot in it!!

or make sure they go before they leave home!

PS: Who would pay for the toilets, English Heritage, Westbury Town Council or Bratton Parish Council (who's parish the White Horse is actually in)?

Hi Mike,
I've taken this thread off topic - apologies.
One of the objections, I'm told, was the provision of water and waste piping. I had in mind something like this:

http://www.natsol.co.uk/

I was told, but never took it any furher, that there would be grants available and they (the toilets) could be made to pay for themselves. But I was probably quite rightly warned off as it was so complicated with jurisdiction issus between Bratton, English Heritage, MOD, the farmer and so on. You might remember me talking about the Westbury White Horse at an old WAAG meeting with Bratton Parish Council. Boy was that ever a mistake! I was involved (before joining the Council) with a campaign against the new fencing up there - but that got absolutely nowhere.

I agree. Bratton objected to it being called the Westbury White Horse, but it was not them that offered the £3000 towards the cost of the re-painting!!!

Whenever Edward St was taken, Morrison's wasn't open. Remember these signs:

--- just noticed ---
look at the second one and zoom in on the fishmonger poster. They have blurred the face on the poster!
