Whatever will be will be. x

« on: June 03, 2010, 11:23:21 »

It is prob very obvious but I cannot seem to find the local No needed for the Inland Rev, on their site it is confusing me, and offering me written advice only, and when I google it I get a Frome number which when I call it says No. not available.

I have been paying too much tax and want to get a refund sorted.

Any help greatly appreciated

According to the IR web site you need this page CC:

http://search3.openobjects.com/kbroker/hmrc/locator/search.ladv?tx6=1&tx5=2672&sp_pc=ba13+3sf&type=1&op2=1&op3=1&op5=1&tx3=&op6=0&tx2=&sp_loc=BA13&tx1=499125&sm=0&submit=Search&sr=0&fl1=sp_postcode%3A&as=1&sf=&fl5=regime%3A&ty5=0&ty6=0&fl3=officenumber%3A&ha=140&fl2=officenumber%3A&cs=UTF-8&ty2=0&fl6=sp_nearest%3A&ty3=0&nh=10&sp_scope=hmrctaxo

The nearerst enquiry centres are listed here:
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/enq/index.htm

but since none of them have phone numbers (as you say) - I think I would start with Bristol, but see if you can see someone in say Frome.  Citizens Advice in Trowbridge might help.

That Tax Fix site says "No Refund, No Fee service"
but seems very cagey about what they charge (ie. deduct) if they get you a rebate.
I think I would want to ask a lot of questions first.

CC

Don't pay any tax and you will soon get a letter from HMRC. That address is the one you deal with!

I am only just calming down from the phone conversation I just had with the woman at the Tax office.

She has to be the rudest most obnoxious woman I have ever had to deal with.

So unhelpful.   She reeled off information at top speed, I could barely take in what she was saying.

I am livid.

She was not at all interested in helping me.

I remained polite and cool at all times, until the end when I told her how unhelpful and rude I thought she was. Angry
