Family parking bays causing fury amongst mothers as undeserving shoppers unfairly hog the spaces

It's all down to whether the bays are monitored. The family and disabled bays seem to work okay in Morrison's but are a disgrace in Tesco Express and often abused at the Co-op. I know people are busy and often want to get in and out of the shops quickly, but it doesn't take long to park properly. Interesting that supermarkets set no upper age limit on what is a 'child'.

Tesco Express on Leigh Park is a curious one.  For a start the parent/child spaces seem to be viewed by some of the people who work in the shops (especially the beauty shop and Michaal Tuck) as their work parking spaces.   Then there are a whole raft of people who, because they are incapable of driving into a parking space when there are many available, prefer to park on the pavement.   As the effect of this is immediate and obvious I can only assume this is a deliberate attempt to hinder passage for parents with prams and people in wheelchairs, and of course to make being on foot in the car park as dangerous as possible.
Where CC talks of a ruined society I would start here - for its symolism of people who couldnt give a flying fk about their role or responsibilities as a citizen in our society is massive.  And these aren't necessarily your poor or your asbos - these are your selfish and your inconsiderate - and that sits across all classes.

Although I must say the article is VERY daily mail "Some have accused thuggish teenagers and single men of using the generously sized spaces when they roar in to buy cigarettes and alcohol"  - obviously mothers with nothing better to do with their time than follow other people round the shop to see what they are buying!

Just a personal observation, when I was driving, teenagers and those with huge 4x4's seem the worse. I remember asking one middle-aged 4x4 driver to move from some disabled bays where he had parked across two bays. He swore and ranted despite having his wife and two kids in the car. What will they grow up to be like, I thought. Some people should just not be allowed to breed!

Always thought the family bays was for parents with children in buggies only have noticed some people parking in the coop family bay next the the blue badge without any kids in the car many times but i hate those lazy sod's who leave the shopping trolley's next to the parking bays at tesco's in trowbridge although loads of shopping trolley bays around.
