Can you tell I am feeling more than a little emotional about my little one leaving playschool and starting School ? Cry Grin
My letter to the paper this week.

Quote
I am writing to express my views on what I consider to be a most fantastic PlaySchool in the heart of Westbury, situated behind the Methodist Church on Station Road.
DaisyChain has been up and running since 1999, brought about by obvious determination and passion by the Leader Sarah Fox.
Recently DaisyChain was awarded the merit of ''Outstanding'' in its recent Ofsted Report, and I cannot say how pleased I am that the staff as a team, and Sarah as the founder have been properly recognised for their contribution to the Towns pre School children.
''Team'' is the operative word here, as there is always a consistent, tight knit level of staffing, many of the staff have been there since I first looked around the Playschool for my son some six years ago, and this I think goes along way in providing the strong atmosphere that resides within the Playschool.
The Staff have all shown themselves to be professional at all times, and all driven with the same goal in providing the best care and education for the children who visit them.   What I have always liked best about Daisychain is apart from their high level of fun based education, they have never lost that mothering skill which personally I think should be first and foremost when dealing with young children.    You really know that they have your childrens best interest at heart, and their emotional wellbeing is paramount to them, so they are readily affectionate and that in my opinion is how it should be.
All three of my children attended DaisyChain, my third is due to leave very soon, and even my eight year old still remembers his time there with great affection, and him and his sister talk about how they wish they could go back.  For a place to leave such a massive impression on a child is fantastic, and speaks volumes I feel.
The team at DaisyChain have been fantastically supportive of my family and this varies from emotional support at times, to support with speech and language development to boosting self esteem for my more shy child, encouraging her to blossom socially.
I cannot really begin to express my gratitude for all of the warmth, love and support they have given my three children, and I am sad to leave my connection with the place as my youngest begins School as it is places like this that provide you with a sense of Community, something which is dwindling these days I think.
So my message is this, if you are a parent of a child who is due to start at a Playschool I urge you to look around DaisyChain, the care they will provide for your child is unique and is a great platform for their early years, enabling them to be ready for School years to come.
And to Sarah and your team of helpers, I sincerely thankyou for all that you have given to my children.
Most sincerely
Donna-Michelle Donkin

To Donna, and all other parents of children with whom we have had the pleasure of sharing their early years,

I most humbly thank you for your kind and pasisonate words.  All children spending time with us are in the 'Foundation Stage' of their education, aptly named, since building a firm foundation at this stage for learning and life experiences really counts in a child's future.  For those of you who have studies psychology, you will be well aware of the importance in developing attachments in an environment of love and security, both at home and with others.  It is only through a happy and emotionally positive well-being, physically and mentally that a child can achieve its full potential - it is truly a compliment indeed when our hard work in creating a positive, stimulating & fun setting is acknowledged by parents. (Ofsted was just the icing on the cake)  We love & care for each & every child, it's a priviledge to be part of their early years, but as I've said already Donna, your chidlren make our job look easy, we'll miss Alena terribly, and her hilarious comments!!    Sarah XX
