Treasure every moment that you have! Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present!

A PRIMARY school celebrating its 50th anniversary welcomed visitors to its annual fete on Saturday.

Westbury Junior School's summer event started at 11am, raising more than £1,000 and attracting more than 600 people, despite the inclement weather and Wimbledon finals.

Headmaster Richard Hatt said: "We have recently had a mosaic made to mark our anniversary so the money raised will be for the school."

Attractions included stalls, face painting, a concert of recorder players, a raffle offering £100 as a top prize, a car boot sale and an archery class run by scout master Andrews Kettley.

Mr Hatt added: "We have a strong link with the 1st Westbury Scouts and they helped raise money by instructing members of the community in archery. There was also an egg throwing competition which was very good fun. The adults managed an amazing 21 metres.

"It was a good community day, with everyone from children to parents helping to raise money
