Look up, you never know what you may see.

« on: July 08, 2008, 16:59:06 »

On Saturday morning I dodged the showers and went for a 5ish mile walk and took a number of pictures with my new pocket sized digital camera.

After taking the below shot I thought it would be good to have a thread where people post photos of places in/around Westbury and others guess where they are  Smiley.

I think it would be better to give people 24 hours to PM the answer to the photographer rather than post in the thread, because it's quite possible someone online at the time of posting will reply with the correct place, therefore nullifying the chance of anyone else getting it right.

It could be left to the photographers discretion as to which correctly answering member they allow to post the next photo.

So, here's my photo, where is it?
Answers on a PM by Wednesday late afternoon please  Smiley ....

 Roll Eyes

Yes. I remember seeing the grain tubes as a child and remarking how they look like horse heads, love walking along Old Dilton etc.

Do you have a photo Daisy? Even though you didn't PM me, LOL  Cheesy.
I don't have another of a mystery place at the moment.

This may give you some problems. Where is this.

You guess correctly and you can post the next pic.

So now we've PM'd Alg we have to wait for him to confirm before we can post another? This is a touch tedious...

Daisy is correct in her PM that it isn't in Newmarket.
Al is semi correct that it is in Newmarket but not at the race course. It's on a roundabout on the approach road to Newmarket from Six Mile Bottom. It's a really impressive statue.
Daisy can't take and post photos so Al is the winner.

Over to you Al.
(I realise it was a Westbury pic you were after Andy but I bumped it with a Newmarket pic to get it running again)

Oddly, I don't have a large collection of photos in and around Westbury, but as luck would have it I did take a photo with my phone of a field of poppies I strolled past on Tuesday evening, so, where was I standing at the time? (Road name, rough location will do).

That is the old dilton road a field near to its junction at the top of hill coming out of Chalford going towards Warminster
i recognise it by the Xmas trees down one side of the field.

A Drink a beer for that man! Exactly so Maxi. I was out for a wander to check out Sandhole Lane, after asking about it previously on WTF.
